LiveJournal Or Twitter?

So most of us like to keep our family and or friends up to date on what is going on in our lives. Do you prefer writing long, detailed entries on websites like LJ or quick, short 140 character updates on Twitter? Most of the time, I prefer Twitter, because I think its fun, especially now that I'm using Qwitter and my new phone with unlimited texting.

I used to be a big user of LJ. However, after twitter came around, I've pretty much used it almost exclusively. I still put out very rare LJ posts to update some of my friends that don't have twitter, but even my reading of LJ has become less and less, especially since more and more of my friends are getting twitter. I do however still use it when I need to privately rant or ramble, entries that nobody but me will probably ever see.

I've never been a big fan of such sites, but absolutely love twitter, simply because of how brief updates are. It's a nice way to keep updated with friends in bite size chunks.

I've never been one for writing out long journal entries, so I prefer Twitter.

They serve very different purposes in my mind. I would never write anything very serious or personal on Twitter even though mine is protected, that's not really what it's for. Even now with Qwitter I don't update it as often as I should, but I do like it for the quick little thoughts and random things in my day that I want to say something about, but don't necessarily want to collect into one LJ post. I love writing though, especially in journal form, so I guess LJ will always be my preferred method.

I prefer LJ as well. I don't have a Twitter account; if I did, I wouldn't post personal things on it.

Twitter all the way.

I like using both of them, although I think it's easier to keep up with twitter. No long entries to read. Just a quick message about what's going on. That being said, lj has features that twitter does not. So, I'll continue to use both.

I like both. Twitter is good for short little random things that I don't want to waste a lot of time on but I still want to mention. I like writing in journal form though so I still use LJ for certain things, although I don't use it as often as Twitter. Twitter is a nice gap filler between LJ posts. I also like to use my Twitter as a kind of outline for my LJ posts. I can scan through my recent tweets and refresh my memory about things I've done that I might want to get into more detail with on LJ. I find both sites highly entertaining and useful.

I'm more like Chelsea, I see them as two separate things. Lj is a place for venting or writing something that I need straight in my mind and even for memories sake more detailed memories for example when Kyle vizzets i like to update where I can go back and see my thoughts and feelings where with twitter it's about the quick I'm doing this, or i find this artical interesting. That's my personal thoughts on the matter.

I find myself writing in twitter more often. I write the occasional entry in live journal, though I do read my lj friends page daily. When I want to write something that cant be covered in 140 characters, I now use tumblr. I recently discovered it and I find it to be quick and accessible for reading and writing posts. So I write in twitter nearly every day, tumblr at least once a week or several times a week depending on the week, and live journal once every few months or so. Like a few of you have mentioned, I consider twitter to be different from blogging sites like lj and tumblr. two completely different categories for me.

I'm all right with both, but I rarely use twitter. I prefer Livejournal because I love to write. Yeah, its great tu write brief updates. I use FaceBook to write those quick updates instead of twitter. Both of those sites have good advantages, but personally, if I have something interesting to tell you, I would rather call or hang out in person and converse about it.

Hmmm! This is a difficult one. I'm totally addicted to Twitter now, thanks to Qwitter, lol, everything in bitesize pieces, any time of the day and night, anywhere you go if you have it on both your PC and phone. Ooo! Speaking of which, Qwitter's just made a lovely wind chimes sound at me because someone's updated theirs!, lmfao! Anyway, I think LJ's good if there's something you really need to rave or rant about and personal stuff on Twitter goes no further if you lock your tweets in your account settings on the website, although you can still view the public twitter timeline with Qwitter (CTRL Windows P) and I only started using Qwitter yesterday afternoon! wow! Oo! Another update! I'll just pop off and check that. O,, hang on, no need! I can just do CTRL Windows and the arrow keys till I'm in the Tweets buffer while I'm posting this post, lol, so Twitter all the way for me, simply, because of Qwitter, lol.

I use twitter for just little chunks of what I'm doing, and I use Lj for long-winded entries. I update my twitter a few times a day, and I update LJ twice a day or every couple of days. It all depends on how much I wanna write. I like 'em both.
